Ivor’s Daily Gallivant

Saturday October 28, 2023

Just before 4.00 am unable to sleep I got up and had a cup of tea with a piece of buttered toast. I wrote a piece about mindfulness to a friend and by the time I’d finished it, my tea was cold. I set up my stopwatch to see how long I spend doing things.

Off and on outside there was the sound of heavy rain on the conservatory roof, by 4.30 I was still wide awake, I slept from about 11.00 pm to 4.00 am. (Five hours) which is probably had enough rest for now.

The question was what to do next? And I decided to write a ‘To Do List’.

To Do List 28/10/2023

(1)	Write shopping list. (Done)
(2)	Work on painting (an hour) or Done.
(3)	Go to the Soul Café (didn’t go)
(4)	Do shopping. (done)
(5)	Cook an evening meal. (had a meal midday so this wasn’t necessary)
(6)	Housework (an hour) (Done)

I drank tea and ate buttered toast, wrote to a friend, and wrote some of today’s Gallivant and todays to do list and a shopping list. And checked the opening time for the Coop. (Which took 50 minutes). Drank another cup of tea, daydreamed for a while, added more to the Gallivant and ran to the Coop for milk ate breakfast. (53 minutes)
Had another cup of tea, went through what I had written so far and turned the TV on and chatted on social media but forgot to time myself. (It could have been 2 hours)

Spent ages trying to fill in a customer satisfaction survey for my local Pharmacy but eventually gave up in frustrated. It was a cold wet day I decided not to go to the Soul Café and just do my shopping. By 13.30 I was back from doing the shopping and needed a rest after carrying the shopping home.

I had a chicken curry in Be Be’s it was disappointing, and the price had gone up. But I wouldn’t cook an evening meal tonight.

As planned, I did an hour’s housework.

Absolutely shattered, I sat around for over 20 minutes fighting off sleep before taking my evening medication and doing an hour’s painting- which improved my mood and energy level a lot
