Ivor’s Daily Gallivant

Couldn’t sleep during the night as I had slept through the evening, so I got up and made tea. I found the address of Waterside Chess Club and noted when it is held on my organiser. Wrote a to do list for today.

(1)	Find times for Waterside Chess club and put them on my organiser (done)
(2)	Buy Batteries for hearing aid.
(3)	Cook vegetable curry. (Done)
(4)	Intended to buy green spray paint Poundland but when I got to Southampton it wasn’t in stock. Tried the Works but no joy there either.
(5)	Set up online banking……. go to Southampton. (done)
(6)	Waterside Art Club (didn’t go I was really tired when I came home and didn’t go out again)
(7)	Housework
(8)	Work out expenses for Ivor the Unique Artist (I just need the cost of setting up the blog with Site 123)

Continued without sleep but feeling good and creative. And decided to work on my Waterside churches business idea. The easiest way to do it would be to visit each of them and take photos. And do a series of paintings based on the photos. I caught the bus to Hythe, photographed St. John and asked about putting one of my sketch portraits posters on their display board.

I asked in the library and there was a change of £20/month to display an A4 poster on their board. Next asked in Hythe Community Centre about their notice board and have left a poster for consideration.

Before going I made a list of seven Waterside Churches to be photographed and painted.

(If the project, makes a profit I will use the money to cultivate my garden to grow vegetables.)

Today, I photographed St John in Hythe, meant to photograph St Andrews in Dibden Purlieu (which I forgot) buy a tin of green spray paint for plastic in Poundland in Southampton but they didn’t have any in stock I tried the Works, but they didn’t have any either.

Got my online banking sorted out.

Tiredness dogged me -on the bus into Southampton and back- at several points in the journeys I didn’t know where I was because I had fallen asleep.

Got home slept, continued sorting out the balance for putting on my exhibition and cooked a vegetable curry.

Ivor’s Daily Gallivant Monday October 16, 2023 Todays to do list. (1) Get eye appointment letter reprinted.(Done) (2) Lunch October Books (didn’t go) (3) Housework (not done) (4) Laundrette (done) (5) Painting (not done) (6) Buy Green spray paint (Poundland) (7) Cook a vegetable curry (not done) (8) Buy foil dishes (not done) (9) Ask Will to help transport my paintings back from October Books (done) The day started with an egg sandwich for breakfast and signing up for the newsletters for the National Oceanic Centre and Turner Sims. I hadn’t slept well last night and had a sleep through the until about 10.00. The first thing to do is take my clothes to the laundrette so I could change into clean clothes after my shower. And put one of my Sketch Portrait Posters in my rucksack to be displayed on the notice board in the laundrette. But I got distracted. I saw Glen in his car again from my kitchen window. The car was full to the brim with an assortment of curiosities, or to the untutored eye junk. I went over he wound his window down and told him he was included in yesterday’s Gallivant we had a chat about the Festive Traffic cone project. He said it could be used to funnel water. I mentioned Kathys witches hat idea he said it would be too heavy. I considered using my angle grinder to get its weight down. He said it would clog up the blades. I agreed it wasn’t a practical idea. Later in the laundrette I mulled over the witches hat idea and thought why not use the cone as a template for a papier-mâché witches hat? (The witches hats ideas don’t really appeal) It was Richards Bootleg Art Club Zoom Meeting- he told me he’d had the idea of gluing pictures from magazines onto cards and asked if that was art. I said yes of course it involves selecting the images arranging on the paper and so on. Later on I thought, but of course it would be collage the French stick I will do a Google search and put a link into an article for him.
